We went to the Sea of Galilee and stayed in a resort town named Tiberias over the Labor Day weekend. The Sea is known as Lake Kinneret to the Israelis and is a busy summer destination. It is a beautiful fresh water lake, 700 feet below sea level, still loaded with fish, just as it was when Jesus fished here. The lake is the headwaters of the Jordan River. We were not very ambitious photographers this trip, so I am afraid it is an incomplete record, but we enjoyed 3 days of relaxing, a bit of shopping,and some amazing dinners at lake-side restaurants. The weather was hot, but the lake was refreshing and all within a few hours drive of Amman.Friday, November 2, 2007
