The Patios and The View. The balconies are the main reason we moved. It was a rough transition to go from living on our boat to an apartment with no outside access. I don't think we have eaten a meal inside since we moved here in July. Amman really does have a lovely climate. Sort of a mix between Mediterranean (wet winters) and desert southwest - hot, dry summers with cool nights so it is nice to have even these small balconies. The second balcony has our gas grill - very hard to find here in Amman. The grill we had in hawaii sells here for $1400.00! Jason worked a deal out with the manager at Safeway (The Sultan Center) and we bought this floor model for a MUCH more reasonable price. The view, while not impressive during the day, is actually quite nice when the hills in the far distance are lit up at night. The mosques all have green lights on their minarets and it is beautiful to see the green lights from the neighborhood mosques. There is a small park about 1/2 a block down our street - this is a much more residential area than our last apartment.
